Membership in our association is open to any veteran and their family members who served honorably in the 28th Field Artillery Regiment. Membership is also open to any veteran and their family member who served in units stationed at Bleidron Kaserne, namely the 156 Maintenance Detachment, 501st MP Company and 1st Armored Division Band
We represent the nearly 10,000 Veterans and their family members who were assigned to the 28th Field Artillery Regiment and specifically the 2nd Battalion, which was stationed at Bleidorn Kaserne, Ansbach Germany from 1968 through 1989. The 2nd Battalion 28th Field Artillery was reflagged as the 3rd Battalion 17th Field Artillery in 1988.
The 2nd Battalion 28th Field Artillery played an essential part in the Cold War and the Defense of NATO in Central Europe. The veterans of the 2nd BN 28th FA stood on the wall and said, “Not on my watch, to get to them you have to go through me”
It is our Association’s goal to erect a monument (Design on right) to honor the service of all the veterans of the unit. This monument will be placed in Constitution Park at the Home of Field Artillery, Fort Sill Oklahoma.
You can help us by purchasing one of the commemorative Pavers that will be used around the base of the monument. 100% of the profit from the sale of these pavers goes to fund the monument. This is a great way to honor your service or the service of a loved one. Go here to purchase your paver.
